About the role and team

Uber Business Development (BD) is where strategic vision meets real-world execution. As a Senior Business Development Associate, you won’t just be signing contracts; you’ll be architecting the partnerships that accelerate growth and innovation across our Mobility and Delivery businesses. This role is about finding the "not-so-obvious" connections and building long-term, high-value relationships with major global institutions, spanning both public and private sectors.

The work is high-stakes, fast-moving, and often ambiguous. You’ll be expected to navigate internal and external complexities, managing multiple high-pressure deals simultaneously while keeping the big picture in focus. If you are a resilient, resourceful strategist who thrives on the challenge of moving the real world through creative deal-making, this is where you’ll grow.

What you’ll do

  • Build and grow long-term partnerships by understanding what matters most to our customers—not just selling a product.
  • Navigate ambiguity, shifting priorities, and internal complexity to unlock value for clients and for Uber.
  • Manage pipelines with urgency and discipline, knowing some deals will close fast and others will take months of persistence and trust-building.
  • Adapt your approach based on market dynamics, client needs, and imperfect information—there’s no one-size-fits-all playbook here.
  • Collaborate across operations, marketing, product, and legal to shape proposals, resolve blockers, and deliver solutions that scale.
  • Lead strategic and complex negotiations to completion, engaging cross-functional teams and ensuring alignment across teams on deal terms.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in business development, strategic partnerships, partner management, or similar roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record of closing and managing complex partnerships that are strategically significant.
  • Proficiency in using data to build financial models that uncover the implications of new business opportunities.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining C-level relationships at partner companies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced degree.
  • Deep domain expertise in mobility, delivery, trust & safety, or growth sectors.
  • Experience working within gig-economy companies or high-growth technology marketplaces.
  • Ability to fuse business, strategy, finance, and legal concepts to lead multi-faceted deals.
  • Passion for logistics, transportation, and online-to-offline on-demand services.
