About the Role

Grocery & Retail is a fast-growing part of Uber Eats, and this role sits at the center of how we identify opportunities, solve problems, and scale the business. We are looking for a Strategic Operations Manager to join our Category Growth organization and drive high-priority initiatives from strategy through execution and measurement.

Depending on the focus area, your work may range from using data to uncover insights and build reporting that informs business decisions, to owning operational programs and cross-functional initiatives that drive growth and improve the customer and merchant experience.

You will succeed in this role if you are highly analytical, comfortable navigating ambiguity, and equally willing to develop the strategy and roll up your sleeves to execute it.

What You'll Do

  • Own high-priority initiatives end-to-end — define the problem, build a plan, coordinate stakeholders, drive execution, and measure outcomes
  • Build and maintain reporting and dashboards — create trusted views of performance, support recurring business reviews, and help the team understand what is happening and why
  • Turn data into insights and action — analyze performance trends, identify opportunities, and synthesize findings into clear recommendations
  • Spot gaps and build solutions — identify where measurement, process, or operating structure is missing or broken, then help create the framework needed to close it
  • Collaborate cross-functionally — work across teams including Category, Growth, and Marketing to translate business priorities into action, align stakeholders, and unblock execution

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in analytics, operations, strategy, business intelligence, project management, or a related field
  • Strong SQL proficiency — comfortable writing queries independently to analyze business performance and answer business questions
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in grocery, retail, CPG, e-commerce, marketplaces, or a related industry
  • Experience building and maintaining dashboards and reporting in tools like Looker, Tableau, or similar BI platforms
  • Proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets for analysis, reporting, and ad hoc work
  • Demonstrated ability to translate data into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to own workstreams end-to-end and drive execution across stakeholders
  • Advanced SQL proficiency and experience working independently with complex datasets
  • Proficiency in Python for data manipulation, automation, and analysis
  • Experience designing or analyzing A/B tests and understanding statistical significance
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Tenacious problem-solver who is comfortable navigating ambiguity and finding a path forward
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Proven ability to balance multiple workstreams and consistently deliver against deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Ready to Ride?

This isn't the kind of place where you follow a playbook — it's where you help write one. If you're driven by impact, energized by challenge, and ready to shape how the world moves — we'd love to hear from you.

You may be eligible for bonuses, equity, and other compensation, as well as a range of benefits. Explore our benefits.
