About the Team

The Strategy and Transformation team for the Field Operations organization at Uber sets the vision and strategy for Field Ops, runs agent operations, undertakes our most complex and transformative projects, and drives the optimization of our global operations. We execute this future-state vision across five core pillars: Special Projects, Strategy and Programs, Business Planning and Improvement, Transformation, and Analytics. Within Transformation, we act as the catalyst for large-scale structural change, redefining our operating models, optimizing our global footprint, and fostering a high-performance culture that empowers our globally distributed workforce to thrive.

About the Role

As the Head of Transformation, you will lead the Transformation Office for the entire Field Ops organization. You will be the central force driving our most critical organizational shifts, taking ownership of key workstreams spanning our footprint, operating model, people, technology, and culture.

In this highly visible leadership role, you will set the overarching agenda and narrative for the transformation, ensuring alignment across the business. You will build the robust tracking and reporting infrastructure necessary to measure success and define the target culture that underpins our future state. Operating in a highly matrixed environment, you will manage complex, interdependent initiatives involving multiple internal and external stakeholders. You are a seasoned leader with exceptional executive presence, capable of influencing senior management and driving large-scale change across a highly distributed global network.

This is not a traditional PMO or program management role. We are looking for a leader who can combine strategic thinking with operational execution—someone who can define the future state, influence executive stakeholders, and personally lead complex transformation initiatives from concept through implementation.

What You'll Do

  • Transformation Office Leadership: Direct the central Transformation Office, overseeing end-to-end strategy and execution for core workstreams including footprint, operating model, people, tech, and culture.
  • Agenda & Narrative Setting: Define the strategic agenda and author the overarching narrative for the transformation, ensuring clear alignment and purpose across the organization.
  • Culture Definition: Set the target culture and cultural narrative, ensuring structural changes are supported by the right behaviors and mindsets.
  • Infrastructure & Tracking: Build and manage a rigorous tracking, reporting, and governance infrastructure to monitor the health and progress of all transformational initiatives.
  • Stakeholder & Executive Influence: Manage complex, highly interdependent cross-functional initiatives, leveraging strong reporting and influencing abilities to align senior management and diverse stakeholders.
  • Drive AI & Technology Transformation: Partner across Product, Engineering, and Operations to identify opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and technology to reduce manual work, improve operational efficiency, and enable scalable growth.

Basic Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's or Postgraduate degree.
  • 10 to 15 years of professional experience, with at least 5+ years specifically dedicated to leading large-scale change and transformation programs in a large, distributed organization.
  • Must Have: Prior experience in management consulting combined with a background in direct operating roles.

Preferred Experience

  • Led enterprise-wide operating model transformations within complex global organizations.
  • Experience driving productivity, cost optimization, or organizational effectiveness programs.
  • Built governance models for multi-workstream transformation portfolios.
  • Exceptional executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience partnering directly with C-level executives or executive steering committees.
  • Experience leading change management and organizational capability-building initiatives.
