What the Candidate Will Do

Job Description:

  • Provide executive protection, and other security support, to the Executive Leadership Team and the Board of Directors of Uber.
  • Work closely with other security professionals as part of a team to ensure that safety and security are always prioritized and maintained.
  • Be available to respond directly to any/all security related incidents or emergencies on a 24/7 basis.
  • Be able to respond to all security support requests from executives, executive assistants, and other Uber employees, regardless of time of day. Make sure that all requests are acknowledged and then staffed appropriately.
  • Manage security assets remotely for ELT members traveling to higher risk locations; draft and complete Driver's Briefs for those assets; monitor all movements remotely via WhatsApp communications; conduct invoice reviews for accuracy; address any/all issues that could affect the team’s performance; ensure that all assignments are filled and then executed successfully (25%)
  • Conduct security advances, and coordinate protective service support, for executive movements and events within the New York City area. (25%)
  • Provide general office coverage and support for our CEO when he is in the New York City office. (25%)
  • Help support the planning, and execution, of large-scale company-sponsored events to ensure the safety and security for all guests. (10%)
  • Conduct complex out-of-town domestic and international security advances for executives, as needed, and on a case-by-case basis (10%)
  • Provide executive protection transportation services (executive driving) in the New York City and surrounding areas, as needed. (5%)
  • Liaise with other security entities like local, state, and federal police, other corporate security teams, and other Uber teams to ensure the safety and security of our executives.
  • Liaise with the executives, and support staff, to address and mitigate security issues or concerns.
  • Perform other security-related tasks, sometimes on short notice, as necessary.
  • Always act in a manner that is professional and trustworthy, and uphold the core values espoused at Uber.

Basic Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in protective services (executive protection) and/or state/federal law enforcement or military
  • BA/BS degree preferred
  • Experience working with C-Level personnel
  • Ability to work non-standard hours (nights and weekends) as necessary
  • Ability to respond to any/all requests in a timely fashion, regardless of time of day.
  • Ability to travel in support of the mission, sometimes on short notice.
  • CPR/AED certification
  • Ability to manage security assets from a remote location is a must.
  • Ability to manage a small/medium sized team of fellow professionals is required.
  • Certified to carry a firearm under LEOSA, HR-218, or CCW or the ability to become certified to carry a firearm within 6 months of being hired.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree
  • Previous work at a Fortune 500 Company
  • Executive Transportation experience
  • Familiarity with New York City and the surrounding area.

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$115,000 per year - USD$128,000 per year.
