About the Role
APAC is one of our most under-penetrated and exciting mega-regions, with large consumer pools, a rich and diverse product portfolio, and agile and innovative competitors. APAC Mobility Central Ops is a newly formed unit with an objective to accelerate growth for our mobility business in the region by scaling local and global best practices and deploying subject matter expertise across countries, in close collaboration with the country teams and global partners. The Marketplace team will be responsible for enabling country teams to grow our business and improve efficiencies of our spends via scaled solutions, tech and deploying global best practices.
Key Expectations from the role: Own Core Pricing & Fares across APAC to optimise market performance. Build deep expertise in Uber’s pricing tech and configurations, partner with Local Ops on pricing decisions, and lead the Pricing for Growth agenda. Manage internal pricing tools to ensure accurate, compliant fare updates. Ideal candidate should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, experience working cross-functionally with global teams, proven ability to drive end-to-end execution, knowledge of pricing strategy & data/analytics.
Your Impact in Role
- Lead Core Pricing recommendations across APAC by scoping, designing, and executing pricing changes that drive long-term growth.
- Monitor and analyze performance through leading and lagging indicators, identify areas of risk or opportunity, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Partner with country teams to ensure markets adopt optimal pricing strategies that balance rider affordability, driver earnings, and business sustainability
- Manage internal pricing tools to ensure accurate fare updates and compliance across core markets
- Collaborate with global Product teams to influence the design of new pricing products and ensure alignment with on-the-ground market needs.
- Communicate insights effectively to leadership through clear, data-driven reporting
What You Will Need
- Extensive experience in operations, strategy, or business leadership, ideally with exposure to mobility, fleets and/or logistics
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically with a comprehensive understanding of the operating environment.
- Strong analytical and data-driven mindset, with the ability to derive insights and drive decisions.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and collaboration skills with cross-functional and global teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build trusted relationships with internal teams and cross-functional teams, be a good listener and genuinely seek to incorporate their views.
- You have the GoGetIt mindset: you’re willing to embrace the grind, overcome adversity and play to win for the people we serve, seizing opportunity to push the envelope.
- Advanced analytical skills and prior experiences with SQL, Python or other analytical tools are a plus.
- Prior experiences with pricing and financial modelling are a plus.
