About the Role

The GSS DAS team scales multiple data driven programs for different pillars across Uber’s line of business. Joining the GSS DAS team offers you the chance to drive critical Data Eng based collaborations with multiple stakeholders across Uber. In this role, you will exhibit technical thought partnership with program leadership to drive data-centric initiatives.

---- What the Candidate Will Do ----

  1. Owning program management and execution in the Data Engineering space across Uber's diverse teams.
  2. Creating KPI tracking frameworks to report and track progress on program management and governance.
  3. Partner with diverse teams (Data Science, Analytics, Product,ML) to define scope, gather requirements, propose solutions and plan a roadmap for execution.
  4. Lead vendor partner teams to drive execution, maintain accountability, proactively identify and mitigate risks.
  5. Leverage Gen AI based solutions for automation of Data Engineering workflows to improve program efficiency.

---- Basic Qualifications ----

  1. Possess at least 8 years of experience overseeing programs within data engineering domains, specifically in agile settings.
  2. Experience using SQL in a production environment.
  3. Good understanding of Data Engineering fundamentals and principles for Data Modeling foundations .
  4. Fluency in articulating and communicating data design and platform foundations with the peer group (technical and non technical)
  5. Demonstrate strong team leadership and collaboration skills. Experience working with Product and Engineering teams
  6. Ability to work with remote teams and across time zones
  7. Focus on strategic problem solving and being able to raise the bar for quality/efficiency within the team
  8. Design of KPI tracking systems for complex company-wide metrics across various Uber products and teams globally

---- Preferred Qualifications ----

  1. BS / MS degree equivalent experience in Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or other quantitative fields.
  2. Experience in data exploration (raw, structured data formats) in batch /real time systems.
  3. Experience managing projects across large, ambiguous scopes and driving initiatives in a fast moving, cross-functional environment.
  4. Experience using Gen AI to drive efficiency for Data Engineering processes.
