About the Role

We are seeking an individual who is passionate about creating the foundational network infrastructure and automation systems to support Uber’s autonomous vehicle partnerships throughout the US and around the world.

You will join a collaborative, fast-paced, and highly technical team that stands at the forefront of Uber’s Autonomous Vehicle strategy, which focuses on designing, building, operating, and automating this mission-critical infrastructure. What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points

---- What the Candidate Will Do ----

  1. Develop and deploy physical network infrastructure in unique operating environments to enable autonomous vehicle fleets, users, and IoT devices.
  2. Travel on-site to assist in the evaluation, buildout, and validation of vehicle facility infrastructure.
  3. Lead operational network support for autonomous vehicle platforms, end users, IoT devices, infrastructure components, and participation in on-call rotations.
  4. Drive efficiency across all lifecycle areas of infrastructure ( design, deploy, operate, iterate )
  5. Leverage AI, automation, and software tools to deliver infrastructure efficiency at scale
  6. Partner with 3rd-party Autonomous Vehicle companies to develop next-gen connectivity and data offload solutions to meet a dynamic operational landscape.

  1. 3+ years of relevant experience in designing, building, and/or operating network infrastructure

  1. 3+ years of relevant experience in designing, building, and/or operating network infrastructure
  2. Experience designing, deploying, and optimizing LAN, WAN, WiFi technologies across various vendor platforms.
  3. Proficient with Layer 3 routing protocols (BGP), Layer 2 switching, and network services such as NAT, Stateful/Stateless firewall policies, and VPNs.
  4. Proficient in deploying and troubleshooting DIA and P2P circuits from global telco providers.
  5. A relentless desire to build each network better than the last. Treat networking, operational efficiency, and automation as sciences with room for artful breakthroughs
  6. Great interpersonal skills, deep technical ability, and open-mindedness to discuss various technical approaches to drive consensus across stakeholders.
  7. You are passionate about leveraging software & AI innovations to automate network management, improve network observability, and remediate problems
  8. Ability to operate in a highly dynamic technical environment and think outside the box to bring clarity to novel challenges.

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$153,000 per year - USD$170,000 per year.

You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan.
