About the Role

This is a position within the Earner's org in Bangalore. Earners team is responsible for building solutions that enable our Earners to onboard easily to Uber and to discover new earning opportunities.

As part of the Earner Screenings team, you will be responsible for leading the next generation screenings experience for earners at Uber

---- Basic Qualifications ----

Provides clarity to both the direct team and teams with dependencies to maintain productivity and velocity.

• Achieving this clarity may require consultation with other dependent teams.

• Makes key decisions within the team, leveraging diverse inputs from their team and other relevant teams. Ensures technical decisions leverage relevant existing solutions and identifies opportunities to increase the effectiveness of existing solutions.

• Encourages disagree & commit when needed and assume accountability of these decisions.

• Actively consults with product stakeholders, peer managers, and managers of teams within the larger org if necessary to make these decisions."

• Ensures timely delivery with clear project plan and timelines, which requires exercising sound judgement to resolve trade-offs between short term and long term priorities, managing stakeholder expectations, and working with dependent teams to align on deliverables.

• Leverages tech leads and senior engineers effectively to drive the right technical decisions for the team with a clear view on tradeoffs.

• Enables velocity of their own team with a bias for action. They are closely involved with execution, often enabling their engineers with technical decisions and prioritization."

• Champions engineering excellence for all the technical artifacts within their team or the org to drive measurable impact in the relevant metrics.

• Strives to achieve quality and operational excellence by setting clear goals for the team and holding the bar high for excellence.

• Conducts thorough reviews of operational metrics, incidents, customer detects (bugs, contacts), post-mortems and uses those insights for continuous improvement in the quality of products and software development lifecycle.

• Leads by example and creates a culture of taking risks and allowing the team to learn from failures.

• Creates a team of well rounded contributors/leaders that deliver and participate in programs such as Bar Raising, Tech Talks, and other opportunities for the greater good of Uber.

• Mentors both direct reports and indirect reports to set the tone for their team and influence individuals outside of their team to embody Uber's core values.

• Reflects values in team events like All Hands.
