About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Ads Manager Web Platform team, you will be at the forefront of building and scaling Uber's advertising products and its underlying platform, supporting many feature teams across ads verticals.
Your work will enable Uber to provide the best-in-class experience to advertisers, driving both customer satisfaction and revenue growth.
You will collaborate across teams including product and data science to deliver world-class advertising solutions that support Uber’s growth strategy.
In this role, you’ll tackle complex engineering challenges that come with operating at Uber’s scale, working on systems that are highly available, reliable, and performance-optimized.

What You'll Do
- Design, build, and evolve the Ads Manager web platform, enabling product teams to ship advertiser-facing features with greater speed, reliability, and scalability
- Lead the end-to-end development of new advertising capabilities, optimizing ad delivery systems while delivering intuitive, high-quality user experiences
- Architect and drive foundational systems that enhance the performance, control, and transparency of Uber’s advertising marketplace for advertisers
- Raise engineering excellence through thoughtful code reviews, mentorship of junior engineers, and continuous improvement of development practices and standards
- Tackle ambiguous, high-impact problems by defining clear approaches, evaluating tradeoffs, and aligning the team toward effective, scalable solutions
Basic Qualifications
- Experience with Frontend development and data intensive applications.
- Strong knowledge of Typescript, JavaScript, React, node.js and web fundamentals
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a demonstrated track record of ownership, increasing scope, and delivering high-impact systems
- Strong experience building and scaling modern web applications using single-page application frameworks such as React
- Proven ability to design and analyze experiments, leveraging data to inform product and engineering decisions
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives, driving alignment, and delivering solutions in ambiguous problem spaces
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep domain expertise in advertising or marketing platforms, including campaign management, targeting, auction dynamics, and measurement
- Experience leveraging AI-assisted development workflows end-to-end, from ideation and prototyping to productionization, evaluation, and iteration
- Full-stack experience with 80% Frontend and 20% backend
- Proven track record of improving developer velocity through platform investments, tooling, and process improvements, with measurable impact across multiple teams or organizations

For Canada-based roles: The base salary range for this role is CAD$173,000 per year - CAD$192,000 per year.
