About The Team

The People Partner team at Uber provides a seamless people experience for all employees (especially in moments that matter), enabling them to positively impact the business. This team leads scaled human resources (HR) support for Uber’s leaders, managers, and employees, driving overall engagement and a phenomenal employee experience. The team also drives strategic projects and programs globally and regionally to improve overall HR delivery efficiency, supporting and driving Uber’s growth and scale.

About the Role

As the Director, People Partner for LATAM, you will lead end-to-end HR delivery across all functions and businesses in LATAM. You will partner with regional business leaders, managers, employees, and HR Business Partners (HRBP) to drive regional and overall strategic priorities in employee engagement. This role will report to the Global VP of People Partners & People Operations and partner with the global teams across People & Places (P&P) topics in service of Uber’s business and organization. The role will also work closely with our Centers of Excellence (CoE) (e.g. People Operations, People Development, Rewards, Employee Relations, Diversity & Inclusion (D&I), etc.) to drive programs within the region as well as partner with them on specific regional needs/priorities that can also potentially scale globally.

What You'll Do

  • Co-design and deliver global people programs for Uber in LATAM.
  • Consult with regional business leadership teams and HRBPs on regionally relevant people topics across the HR spectrum. Lead end-to-end delivery and execution of all cyclical people programs in the region
  • Focus on continuous improvement by questioning the status quo and proactively finding opportunities to scale and optimize efficiency and effectiveness of our HR engagement model with the business and well as our people processes
  • Align with regional CoEs on P&P programs and ensure consistency across all businesses in your region
  • Partner with cross-functional teams in Finance and Legal to maintain compliance with local regulations
  • Work with the HRBPs to optimally deliver on business priorities through data, insights, process execution, and project support.
  • Inspire and coach a team of seasoned People Partners
  • Drive regional people priorities in alignment with Uber’s overall people priorities by representing regional needs while also understanding global company initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

  • 15+ years of work experience in progressively senior roles with a demonstrable track record in driving HR transformation at scale.
  • Experience in working with senior leadership to drive strategic HR topics across multiple businesses and functions at a regional/global level.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years in an HR leadership role, plus additional experience in management consulting
  • 9+ years of team/people management experience
  • Thought leadership - ability to think ahead and drive a long-term agenda while also keeping a strong execution and delivery focus
  • Influencing others- Ability to influence leaders across levels as well as functions and help drive a common agenda across a diverse group of stakeholders
  • Problem-solving - ability to understand the root cause of issues and drive solutions with a systemic perspective
  • Team Leadership - Lead, inspire, and mentor a team of seasoned HR professionals
  • Ability to articulate and balance the regional and global needs to enhance the global mindset across P&P leaders and business leaders.
  • Analytical proficiency - ability to lead and influence with data-driven people decisions
  • Knowledge of local labor laws and compliance
  • Embodies and promotes the values of Uber
