Account Manager, Uber Eats (SMB/Mid-Market), DMV
Uber
Sales & Business Development
Washington, DC, USA
About the Role
Uber Eats is about more than just moving food; it’s about moving local economies. As an Account Manager for our Small-to-Medium Business (SMB) and Mid-Market partners in the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) area, your mission is to ensure our restaurant partners don't just survive on our platform—they thrive.
This isn't a "check-the-box" relationship role. It is a high-stakes sales position where you will own a quota and be responsible for the growth and retention of a diverse portfolio. The pace is fast, the DMV market is competitive, and the reality is often messy. You will deal with busy restaurant owners who have a million priorities; you’ll need the grit to get their attention and the analytical "muscle" to prove why growing with Uber is their best bet.
We’re looking for someone with an owner’s mindset—someone who sees a struggling merchant not as a data point, but as a challenge to be solved through strategic upselling and relentless advocacy.
What You’ll Do
Own the Growth: Drive the commercial success of a DMV-based portfolio by hitting ambitious targets for upsell and cross-sell of Uber products (like Uber Direct, Sponsored Listings, and loyalty programs).
Navigate the No: Lead tough, customer-facing negotiations with restaurant owners to expand partnerships and secure long-term commitments in a crowded market.
Consult with Data: Use performance metrics to build a "growth story" for your partners, turning complex delivery data into simple, actionable steps that increase their revenue.
Master the Hustle: Manage high-volume outbound outreach—via phone, email, and the occasional in-person visit—balancing the urgency of immediate sales with the patience required for long-term trust.
Unblock Partners: Act as the bridge between your merchants and Uber’s internal product teams, navigating internal complexity to resolve blockers that stand in the way of a partner’s success.
Drive Retention: Identify "at-risk" accounts early and deploy creative, value-based strategies to keep them on the platform and away from competitors.
Adapt at Speed: Pivot your strategy as market dynamics in the DMV area change, staying resilient through shifting priorities and evolving product playbooks.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in sales, account management, or a customer-facing commercial role.
Experience carrying a quota or being held accountable to specific revenue/growth targets.
Proficiency with CRM tools (like Salesforce) and data tools (Excel/Google Sheets) to manage a pipeline and analyze performance.
Ability to travel within the DMV area for occasional in-person partner meetings.
Preferred Qualifications
SMB or Mid-Market Expertise: Experience working with local merchants or the restaurant industry is a massive plus.
Consultative Sales Skills: A proven ability to identify a client’s pain points and "connect the dots" to a solution they hadn’t considered.
Ambiguity Muscle: Experience thriving in environments where the playbook is still being written, and you have to figure things out on the fly.
Resilience: A track record of staying motivated and maintaining high activity levels in the face of rejection or challenging client conversations.
For Washington, DC-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$69,500 per year - USD$77,000 per year.
