About the Role

We are looking to hire highly motivated Senior Accountant for our Global Accounting Team that will play a critical role in accounting daily operation and month-end close processes. You will have the opportunity to work on cross-functional projects, process improvements, and become a subject matter expert in Uber’s financial accounting policy, processes and systems. This person will also act as a business partner to interact and support cross-functional business teams globally.

What the Candidate Will Do

• Be responsible for the balance sheet and income statement of a group of legal entities, including prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, month-end-close activities, financial statements and reporting packages.
• Analyze the accuracy and reasonableness of the monthly financial results through variances analysis and discrepancies investigation at general ledger account level and financial statement line items level across legal entities, regions and business units.
• Supervise Global Business Service (“GBS”, third party service provider) team, provide training, perform detailed review to ensure work quality; and continue improving GBS team’s operational processes.
• Partner closely with cross functional business partners to ensure proper accounting for business activities. Be able to identify process improvement and automation opportunities and create effective and efficient end to end processes.
• Own and execute internal controls activities and maintain internal control documentation.
• Continue enhancing existing processes and internal controls. Support external audit activities and ongoing internal audits. Support management in completing special ad hoc projects as assigned.

What the Candidate Will Need:

• Master’s degree in commerce, Accounting or Finance. CPA/CA Certification is preferred.
• Big 4 public accounting assurance/audit/consulting experience at a manager level, and/or Sr. Accountant/Manager within high-volume (Uber equivalent) Corporate environment
• 6 plus years of professional experience in public accounting firm’s assurance/audit/consulting service or Sr. Accountant role in multinational corporation.
• High attention to detail, critical thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills, combined with a good business judgment Team player, self-starter, with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal skills, and positive attitude.
• Experience in supervising and reviewing work of others, including outsourced service providers.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and public company audit requirements.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills (V-Lookups, Pivot Tables, etc.)
