About the Role

We’re seeking a creative and strategic Social Media Manager to lead social content strategy and development for—and about—Uber’s driver and courier community. You’ll own the channel strategy as well as the long form and short form content creation designed to educate, inspire, and empower drivers, couriers, and other earner communities.

Success in this role comes from being deeply embedded with Driver and Courier Operations, Product, Comms and Policy. You’ll build a clear understanding of the issues drivers face and the way regulators, media, and others view gig workers. That context will shape content that strengthens trust and brings platform information to life.

You will concept, produce, and distribute videos that highlight driver stories, explain how Uber works, and support open and engaging communication with the people who power the platform.

What You’ll Do

YouTube & Content Strategy

  • Develop and execute a Social content strategy for the Earning with Uber Youtube channel, with tailored approaches for long-form episodes, short-form clips, and community posts.
  • Build a content roadmap aligned to earner needs: leadership conversations, education (how-tos, tips), product updates, feature explainers, and inspirational profiles.
  • Identify and analyze audience trends, algorithm shifts, and opportunities for channel growth.
  • Establish a consistent channel identity—tone, pacing, visual style, and publishing cadence.

Creative Development & Franchise Building

  • Concept and launch 2–3 original video franchises (e.g., video podcast series, interview formats, storytelling series, tips-driven shorts).
  • Work with writers, producers, designers, and product teams to shape scripts, questions, story arcs, and visual assets.
  • Create frameworks that ensure franchise episodes can be repeated consistently and efficiently.

Video Podcast Production

  • Lead end-to-end production of a recurring video podcast, including guest sourcing, pre-production planning, scripting/outlines, set design, and post-production review.
  • Identify and produce high-impact short-form clips from long-form episodes, optimizing for YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Reels, and earner engagement.
  • Assist with or oversee filming—camera setup, lighting, audio, remote recording tools, and on-set direction.
  • Manage editing workflows: long-form episodes, highlight clips, reels/shorts, and captioning.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Collaborate with internal teams (Earner Ops, Community Engagement, Comms, Legal, Product Marketing, Safety, etc.) to source relevant topics, anticipate earner reactions on social channels and wider media and ensure content accuracy.
  • Translate complex product or policy updates into clear, engaging, earner-friendly storytelling.
  • Work with brand and creative partners to uphold Uber brand guidelines.

Channel Operations & Publishing

  • Own all publishing processes: metadata, titles, thumbnails, SEO optimization, playlists, tagging, end screens, and community management.
  • Upload and distribute podcast episodes across all audio streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Podcasts, etc.).
  • Maintain a predictable production calendar, ensuring timely release and consistent quality.
  • Monitor comments on YouTube and guide community interaction strategy (triage to internal teams as needed).

Performance Analytics

  • Track and report on KPIs such as CTR, retention, watch time, subscriber growth, and earner engagement.
  • Optimize content based on performance insights, audience signals, and competitive benchmarking.
  • Conduct regular channel health assessments and experiment with new formats or publishing tactics.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Social content creation, social video production, or video podcast production.
  • Background in journalism, creator management, or documentary-style storytelling.
  • Proven ability to launch and grow a channel, as well as build a reputable and repeatable franchise series.
  • Hands-on experience with cameras, lighting, audio, and editing workflows (Premiere, Final Cut, or similar).

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in Social content creation, social video production, or video podcast production.
  • Excellent copywriting and scripting skills for titles, hooks, and narrative structure.
  • Understanding of YouTube analytics, platform algorithms, and content optimization best practices.
  • Experience simplifying complex information into engaging, accessible stories.
  • Comfortable collaborating across teams and managing feedback loops.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
