What You’ll Do

  • The Forecasting Engine: Build, refine, and scale the frameworks for demand forecasting. You will translate historical order data into precise supply hour requirements across the region.

  • Scheduling Muscle: Own the "Gold Standard" for shift patterns. You will determine how we distribute hours to fleets to ensure 100% coverage during peak "dinner rushes" without over-indexing during lulls.

  • Real-Time Balancing: Develop the playbooks for marketplace intervention. When demand spikes or supply falls short, you will unlock the tactical levers to rebalance the scales instantly.

  • Efficiency Analytics: Become our resident "Utilization Rate" expert. You will perform deep-dive "Post-Mortems" on scheduling gaps to identify where we are "leaking" money due to over-supply.

  • Product Collaboration: Act as the primary feedback loop and sparring partner for Tech and Product teams. You’ll translate ground-level scheduling friction into technical requirements for automated dispatch and scheduling tools.

  • SLA Management: Define and monitor strict reliability KPIs for our fleet partners, ensuring their scheduling discipline aligns perfectly with Uber’s marketplace needs.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ Years of Experience: Background in operations, management consulting, or a high-growth tech environment.

  • Mathematical Rigor: Advanced analytical skills. You don't just see a spreadsheet; you see a living, breathing marketplace. SQL proficiency is mandatory to query complex datasets and build your own forecasting models.

  • Critical Thinking: A first-principles approach to solving complex, unstructured problems and the ability to navigate "grey areas."

  • Stakeholder Mastery: Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and collaborate across operations, technical, and legal teams to drive a unified agenda.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Prior experience working with fleets or staffing agency models is a significant advantage.

  • Hands-on Mentality: You aren't just a strategist behind a screen. You are eager to get into the field, visit partners, and listen to the people running ground operations to ensure your solutions work in the real world.

  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: You thrive in ambiguity and are excited by the challenge of being a "founding member" of a new business vertical.

  • Agility: The ability to pivot quickly when data suggests a change in direction is needed, maintaining a "get it done" attitude under pressure.

  • Communication: A knack for taking complex marketplace dynamics and simplifying them for non-technical audiences.
