Senior Product Manager - Experimentation
Uber
About the Role
Experimentation is at the heart of how Uber iterates, launches, and measures impact of our products. We evaluate thousands of changes across our apps and marketplaces — ranging from UX improvements and marketing campaigns to complex matching algorithms, pricing strategies, subscriptions and incentives.
We are constantly working to improve the correctness and velocity of our experimentation systems. As a Product Manager on this team, you will drive the evolution of our platform - enabling teams to run more experiments, faster, and a very high quality bar to guide better business decisions. You will bridge the gap between complex statistical methodologies and intuitive product experiences, ensuring every decision at Uber is data-driven.
What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points
---- What the Candidate Will Do ----
- Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Uber’s experimentation portfolio (including A/B testing, Switchbacks, and Multi-armed bandits).
- Develop a deep understanding of internal use-cases across Engineering, Data Science, and Product to identify gaps in our current capabilities.
- Lead cross-functional teams of engineers, data scientists, and designers to take features from concept to launch.
- Craft the tooling and processes required to improve experimentation velocity and decision-making quality, making advanced statistics accessible to non-experts.
- Clearly communicate product plans, benefits, and results to a spectrum of audiences, from internal technical partners to C-level leadership.
---- Basic Qualifications ----
- Minimum 5+ years of Product Management experience with a track record of delivering technical products.
- Demonstrated ability to develop product roadmaps and work with cross-functional partners (Engineering, DS, Design) to take products from concept to reality.
- Strong familiarity with statistics and experimentation concepts. You should be comfortable running queries, analyzing data, and challenging the "why" behind the numbers.
- Experience using data to build insightful stories and make high-stakes decisions with minimal guidance.
- A "driver" mindset — bias for action, a great collaborator, a master simplifier, and constantly pushing toward clarity and delivery.
---- Preferred Qualifications ----
- Ability to drive behavioral changes and process adoption across a large organization through intuitive tooling and process rather than relying on leadership mandates.
- Comfortable operating in a highly technical domain; you can dive deep into the technical details to understand the constraints and trade-offs to craft the right feature set
- An effective communicator at all levels of the organization, capable of summarizing complex technical trade-offs for executive leadership.
- A true passion for Uber's mission and the hybrid nature of our technology and operations.
