About the Role

Whether it’s a sandwich, a burrito, or groceries, the Uber Eats team builds technology to connect people with what they want, when and where they want it. On our Product team, you will envision and execute on new products in order to accelerate the trajectory of Eats globally in a matter of months, not years.\

This PM needs to be able to think from a customer and product principles perspective and tie that customer lens back to a deeply technical development space. This PM will develop a product vision and lead an engineering team to deliver on that vision. They will identify the biggest customer problems on search, prioritize among them, and set objectives and a roadmap for the team. They will influence a team of engineers to ensure that the solutions identified (across UX features and ML algorithms) are grounded in solving specific customer problems.

What the Candidate Will Do

As a Product Manager on the Uber Eats Search team, you will be at the center of delivering on our mission. As Uber Eats expands into new services like Grocery, the challenge of helping a consumer quickly find what they want grows exponentially. Ultimately your goal will be to ensure each time an Uber Eats consumer opens the app, they find exactly what they are looking for, with as few clicks and interactions as possible.

Search is the channel for customers with intent to find what they’re looking for. We have two primary search funnels – restaurant/store search and in-store/item search – with multiple surfaces across each. The team leverages sophisticated machine learning and NLP to determine what to show to customers and in what order. We also have designers and UX engineers to build amazing customer experiences to make it easier for customer to express their intent more quickly.

You will define the strategy and vision of search team, convert that strategy to a roadmap, then deliver it. You’ll oversee core elements of the Uber Eats home page, product manage our end-to end search experience, and partner with teams across the experience to ensure the entire experience is personalized to each user’s needs.

You won’t be alone in your endeavors. Rather you’ll work with seasoned experts in personalization, machine learning, and ranking across Engineering, Data Science, and Design. In partnership with your colleagues, you’ll transform your strategy into a product that scales globally. This involves considering local customer needs, cultural nuance, and competitive environments to help our business grow and retain its loyal user base.
