About the Role

The Iberia (Spain & Portugal), DACH (Germany, Austria, & Switzerland), and Southern, Central & Eastern Europe (SCEE) Safety & Identity Team is responsible for enabling sustained business growth. This is achieved by building an industry-leading safety and standards program.

In this role, you will be a key contributor to the mission of advancing safety for Mobility & Delivery at Uber. We are looking for a collaborative professional who enjoys solving complex challenges and is motivated by a mission to enhance safety across the communities we serve.

You will analyze complex issues, develop practical solutions, and communicate insights that drive the business forward. By partnering with a diverse range of internal and external collaborators, you will implement changes that create immediate impact. With end-to-end ownership of your projects—from design to execution—your work will tangibly improve safety across the Mobility & Delivery landscape.

What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points

---- What the Candidate Will Do ----

  1. Support Mobility & Delivery safety in the SCEE region to ensure that Uber is the platform of choice
  2. Design and implement scalable processes and initiatives to improve safety on the Uber platform
  3. Understand the business objectives and plans in order to advise on safety implications and give strategic recommendations to senior management
  4. Partner with your EMEA counterparts to share best practices and lessons learned widely, thus scaling your impact
  5. Facilitate improvements in incident handling metrics, fostering compliance with our reporting obligations and improving customer experience
  6. Work cross-functionally with legal, risk, product and engineering teams to build and deploy innovative technology solutions that support our goals of reducing safety incidents on the platform
  7. Support the launch of comms campaigns, educational content, strategic partnerships, and other safety initiatives

---- Basic Qualifications ----

  1. 2+ years of proven experience in one or more of: business operations / product operations / safety / security / consulting or related areas is preferred, but we will consider candidates with less experience if they meet our other requirements.
  2. Note: We recognize that expertise takes many forms. If you have slightly less experience but a strong track record of delivery and a passion for this space, we strongly encourage you to apply.
  3. Demonstrated project management, planning and organization skills bringing order and simplicity to ambiguous problems and aligning all parties through to execution
  4. English & Turkish language proficiency

  1. A track record of fostering partnership across different regions and levels of an organization to communicate clear priorities.
  2. A proactive approach to taking initiative in a dynamic, evolving environment. We value results and impact over "face time" and offer the flexibility needed to work effectively across different time zones.
  3. Experience interpreting data for diverse audiences and translating quantitative findings into practical action plans.
  4. Proficient in querying data (SQL) and experienced with leveraging GenAI tools (like Gems or Notebooks) to drive efficiency.
