About the Role
We are looking to hire our next General Manager to lead Uber Eats Taiwan. This is a large and dynamic business and we are looking for an exceptional leader with a proven track-record of outstanding results.
This role will be responsible for leading our Restaurants business in Taiwan, with a true general management scope. You will be:
- The strategic leader of the business, translating global goals into a locally inspiring strategy and plan.
- Accountable for driving business results in Taiwan, both top and bottom line. We are looking for a leader with the capabilities, confidence and ambition to drive the next phase of outsized growth in Taiwan
- A leader of multiple teams, as well as an important cross functional partner to the many teams that do not directly report to you, but are critical to successful execution of your plan, including Commercial Acquisition, Commercial Operations, Community Operations, Sales, Marketing, Policy, Legal, Comms, Tax, HR, Recruiting, Finance, BD and many more.
- A visible and vocal champion for our customers and partners externally, and our business and market internally.
- A competent, decisive and optimistic leader that can rally many teams and stakeholders to achieve a shared vision.
What You’ll Do
- With your cross functional leadership team, define a compelling vision for the Taiwan Restaurants business, and inspire the team to execute against this vision.
- Set the mission and strategy by tying global priorities to local insights and innovation.
- Lead financial planning and resource allocation (dollars, time and people), including continued investment decisions as conditions change.
- Directly manage a diverse set of teams including a commercial sales organization.
- Negotiate, renew, and support our largest Global and Enterprise partnerships alongside the Sales team.
- Represent our brand and business in the media, in front of politicians and policymakers, and at external events.
Basic Qualifications
- 15+ years work experience, including time spent in strategic and operational roles
- Track record of delivering outsized business results
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building, leading and engaging diverse teams
- Evidence of successful complex stakeholder management across a variety of functions; bonus points for across international borders
- An appetite for taking smart risks in a fast moving, competitive and often ambiguous environment
- Bonus points for: Managing a sizeable P&L, Customer engagement at senior levels, Experience representing your brand/ market externally
- Ability to speak Mandarin fluently
