About the Role
We are looking for an Operational Risk and Compliance Manager who will work within the regulated Fintech team. This person will be assessing, managing and minimizing Operational Risk for Uber in Mexico.
This role is a unique opportunity to help expand one of Uber's newest services, Uber Money.
This is a rigorous business role in a high-growth environment, and this person will work together with the Fintech team to ensure we are compliant with the regulation and have solid governance.
What you'll do:
● Develop & Optimize Processes - Leverage the Operational Risk Management Framework to: Identify, Measure, Monitor, Manage, Report and Govern Operational Risk.
● Analytics - Analysis of current process to provide independent assessment of the Operational Risks and controls. Communicate the changing Operational Risk Profile to senior management in a timely manner with context and clear scenarios with proposed solutions.
● Strategy - Define KPIs with the first line of defense with appropriate thresholds for our current risks, evaluate them, follow up on the provided mitigation plans and understand third party risks. Work with the testing team to test the effectiveness of controls mitigating heightened Operational Risks.
● Regulatory Oversight - Evaluate regulatory requirements including changes to current laws and inform/act accordingly to ensure we remain compliant.
● Ownership - Take ownership of Uber Money growth in Latam and do everything you can to support and enhance the quality of our services; We expect you to be proactive and resourceful in order to remove road blockers and find creative solutions.
Basic Qualifications
- (Required) At least 3 years of high performing work experience in Operational Risk and/or Internal Control.
- MBA graduate or quantitative Bachelor's degree (actuarial, engineering, mathematics, finance, economics, physics, etc.)
- Good communication skills that will allow you to clearly explain your work and to participate in constructive debate
- Stakeholder management
Preferred Qualifications
- (Ideal) At least 1 year of Compliance oversight.
- Experience in: Third Party Risk management and/or Internal Audit
- Problem solving - Being able to solve issues that involve people, things, and processes by using logic, common sense and data. Identifying the root cause of a problem as opposed to focusing on the symptoms.
- Ability to take initiative in a constantly-changing work environment while maintaining flexibility and a collaborative attitude and to drive analysis, get into conclusions and be able to present them to different Stakeholders
- Experience programing in SQL is a BIG plus, but not required
