About the Role
We're seeking a dynamic and results-oriented leader to become our Head of Driver in Egypt. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead the strategy and execution for growing and optimizing our driver, supply partner, and fleet ecosystem, ensuring a thriving and reliable supply base that underpins Uber's success in the region. You will champion the earner experience, owning how we build trust, maximize earnings opportunities, and foster a strong sense of partnership with the individuals and partners powering our platform. This encompasses independent drivers, supply partners and fleet operators.
You will be instrumental in shaping Uber's value proposition for our supply ecosystem in Egypt, driving impactful initiatives to enhance brand perception, boost satisfaction and retention across driver segments, and solidify Uber as the preferred platform for earning. This leadership position sits at the crucial intersection of marketplace dynamics, product strategy, and on-the-ground operations, demanding sharp analytical acumen, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and a deep understanding of the needs of individual drivers and industry partners.
What the Candidate Will Do:
- Strategic Leadership & Vision: Collaborate with executive leadership to define and implement a comprehensive supply strategy encompassing both drivers and partners across Egypt. Clearly communicate the overarching vision and translate company-wide objectives into specific, motivating goals for the team.
- Supply Expertise: Develop and execute strategies for effective supply management, including driver acquisition, onboarding, partner management, and relationship building.
- Driver Experience Optimization: Lead the team responsible for continuously elevating the experience of individual drivers on the Uber platform in Egypt to improve driver engagement and retention.
- Business Performance & Analysis: Take ownership of key operational and financial metrics related to driver supply. Conduct in-depth analysis to inform critical business decisions, understanding the interdependencies across various functions and considering both short-term and long-term implications.
- Problem Solving & Root Cause Analysis: Proactively identify challenges impacting driver supply, utilizing data, logic, and common sense to understand the underlying causes and lead cross-functional teams in developing effective solutions.
- Process Optimization & Implementation: Identify core processes related to supply management and driver experience, optimize their efficiency, and oversee their successful implementation, regularly monitoring performance and making necessary adjustments.
- Product Insights & Advocacy: Leverage team insights to identify opportunities for product improvements and new features that enhance the experience and efficiency for both drivers and fleet operators. Partner closely with regional and global product teams to champion these initiatives for the Egyptian market.
- Stakeholder Management & Collaboration: Serve as a trusted thought partner and lead cross-functional initiatives by forging strong relationships with local, regional (EMEA), and global teams across operations, customer support, product, policy, and legal. Ensure the voice of our supply base is heard and effectively advocate for necessary resources.
- Earner Obsession: Champion a deep understanding of the needs and motivations of drivers and partners in Egypt, ensuring all strategies and initiatives are centered around their success.
- Team Leadership & Development: manage and develop a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment. Lead by example, empowering team members to execute effectively and deliver results.
What the Candidate Will Need:
- Min 5 years of professional experience in operations, supply chain management, or partner management in fast paced environments
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategies related to supply acquisition, onboarding, and performance management for both individual contractors and partner entities.
- Strong data-driven mindset with a proven ability to guide strategic decision-making through rigorous data analysis and interpretation. Comfortable diving deep into data while maintaining a clear understanding of the broader strategic context.
- Strong complex problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn complex, ambiguous problems into actionable analyses.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Arabic, with validated experience in interpreting and communicating data effectively to diverse audiences in a clear, concise, and engaging manner. Ability to convey messages clearly across seniority levels, functions, and geographies.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster a collaborative environment where diverse perspectives are valued and healthy working relationships are maintained.
- A proven track record of leading by example and empowering teams to execute effectively under pressure and within tight deadlines.
- Exceptional execution skills, with the ability to lead and prioritize complex operations requiring cross-functional collaboration and deliver high-quality results in a dynamic and ambiguous environment.
- Strong planning and organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to translate business goals into clear operational plans and effectively delegate tasks and responsibilities.

- Strategic thinker with a comprehensive understanding of the operating environment in Egypt, capable of developing proactive strategies to maintain a competitive edge and achieve growth objectives for both driver and fleet supply.
