About the Role

At Uber, safety is foundational to our mission, and ensuring our partner-drivers meet regulatory and document compliance standards is critical to maintaining trust with regulators, drivers, and riders across the UK & Ireland.

Our Rides Document Compliance team, encompassing Compliance, Document Fraud, and InstaDoc specialisations, plays a vital role in safeguarding platform integrity. As we continue to scale, we are seeking a Risk & Compliance Specialist II to strengthen operational oversight, elevate quality standards, and support risk mitigation across sensitive and high-impact workflows.

This role combines operational excellence, risk management, mentorship, and process improvement to ensure we deliver compliant, accurate, and scalable solutions in a fast-moving regulatory environment.

What You'll Do

Operational Excellence & Risk Oversight

  1. Execute and oversee high-risk Instadoc, Document Fraud and Compliance BAU workflows with precision and accountability
  2. Ensure consistent weekly coverage across critical tasks, partnering closely with UKI Compliance Specialists and Team Leads
  3. Review Potential Breach Reports prior to submission and drive LOMC follow-up actions with strong attention to detail
  4. Act as owner for ad-hoc audit requests, ensuring timely, accurate completion and flagging risk where appropriate

Quality & Process Improvement

  1. Identify and drive process optimisation initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce risk, and enhance quality
  2. Partner cross-functionally to implement scalable solutions that strengthen controls across Compliance, Doc Fraud, and InstaDoc
  3. Support testing, validation, and rollout of new processes, ensuring operational readiness and adoption

Training, Knowledge & Escalation Support

  1. Serve as a subject matter expert across the Document Compliance specialisations
  2. Mentor and ramp new hires across all task phases; provide refresher training where needed
  3. Act as escalation point for complex or high-risk cases
  4. Promote knowledge sharing and best practices to elevate team capability

Basic Qualifications

  1. Operational Rigor: Highly detail-oriented with a structured, process-driven mindset
  2. Analytical Thinking: Comfortable interpreting data, identifying trends, and informing operational decisions (Google Sheets proficiency required)
  3. Stakeholder Management: Clear, proactive communicator across team members and leadership
  4. Continuous Improvement Mindset: Passionate about optimisation, automation, and reducing operational waste

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Demonstrated experience in process improvement and operational optimisation
  2. Strong understanding of compliance risk management
  3. Experience supporting audits or high-risk reviews
