Regulatory & Compliance Operations Manager
Uber
About the Role
We are looking for a strategic and hands-on leader to own Uber’s operational response to the new Federal Labor Law for Digital Platforms in Mexico. This role is critical, serving as the bridge between complex IMSS regulatory requirements and large-scale technical and operational execution.
Sitting at the intersection of operations, legal, and product, this position plays a key role in shaping how Uber interprets, implements, and scales these regulations for Uber Eats delivery partners in one of our most important markets. If you enjoy navigating complexity, scaling workflows, improving day-to-day experiences for earners, and using data to bring clarity to ambiguity, this role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
Your mission will be to design and operate the compliance ecosystem that enables the formalization of thousands of delivery partners. You won’t just manage processes—you’ll build an automated, auditable, and scalable framework that ensures every registration and payment is accurate and compliant.
This is a high-impact role with significant ownership and influence. You will directly shape how we support delivery partners, maintain regulatory compliance, and drive operational excellence across Mexico.
What You’ll Do
- Design and lead the operational architecture for registering and managing delivery partners under the new Social Security regulations for digital platforms.
- Oversee mass-scale affiliatory movements—including registrations, terminations, and salary modifications—ensuring real-time synchronization between Uber systems and government platforms (IDSE/SUA).
- Develop and maintain SQL-based reconciliation routines to validate that social security contributions align with IMSS records, minimizing risk from discrepancies.
- Manage operational workflows related to disabilities, occupational risks, maternity leave, and other benefits, ensuring delivery partners’ rights are supported.
- Lead responses to audits from the Ministry of Labor (STPS) and IMSS by delivering clear control reports and proposing structural, scalable solutions at the General Management level.
Basic Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in operations, strategy, or other data-driven roles.
- Proven experience managing cross-functional initiatives with high accuracy and measurable business impact.
- Strong knowledge of Mexican Social Security regulations, including hands-on experience with IDSE, SUA, and related operational processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into scalable solutions.
- Demonstrated experience implementing high-impact regulatory or compliance-related changes.
- Proficiency using SQL, Google Sheets, and internal tools to analyze data, reconcile operations, and prepare structured reports for regulatory systems.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
-
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Professional fluency in both Spanish and English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing, scaling, or improving complex operational processes.
