Role Overview
As a Program Manager on this team, you will play a critical role in driving the successful execution of programs delivering deep insights across Maps and Autonomous Vehicle (AV) use cases. This role spans both strategic and operational responsibilities and requires a strong combination of technical acumen, program leadership, and business judgment.
You will lead complex, cross-functional technology programs, partner closely with stakeholders across Product, Engineering, and Operations, and ensure high-quality delivery within defined timelines and budgets.
What You Will Need
Lead large-scale, cross-functional programs from definition through execution, ensuring alignment with business and product objectives
Drive operational excellence and execution rigor across Maps and AV-related charters
Partner closely with Product and Engineering teams to deliver data-driven insights that improve models, identify failure points, and enhance end-user experience
Manage globally distributed teams and vendors to deliver scalable, high-quality outcomes
Own program budgets and drive cost-efficiency initiatives while maintaining quality standards
Establish mechanisms for continuous improvement through performance analysis and experimentation
Communicate program status, risks, and outcomes through regular updates and business reviews with senior stakeholders
What You Will Do
- Program Leadership: Define program scope, OKRs, and KPIs. Ensure alignment with stakeholder objectives and product goals
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams across ops, engineering, and product for data diagnostics needs within Uber
- Execution and Delivery: Independently manage a large team of vendors to drive quality and efficiency. Deliver qualitative and quantitative insights to enhance model development, identify failure points of the model, and improve end-user experience
- Financial: Own program budget for Maps and AMD Charters. Drive efficiency by running experiments to transition to low-cost operating models while maintaining a high standard of quality
- Continuous Improvement: Analyze program performance and implement optimizations to improve efficiency and outcomes
- Communication: Provide regular program updates to stakeholders, including executive leadership. Conduct weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews
Basic Qualifications
- Overall 6+ years of work experience managing large-scale and dynamic programs/projects
- 4+ years of experience leading Quality and/or Mapping charters in a scaled operations set up
- Proven collaboration and communications skills working with globally distributed teams and multiple stakeholders, particularly core product and engineering teams
- Excellent data analysis skills, ability to derive insights and storytelling with data
- Experience is understanding Maps, Routing, ETA and LiDAR technology space from data and analytics standpoint
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree in science or business
- Ability to effectively operate with high energy and flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly evolving team environment
- Experience in defining and driving data quality metrics
- Ability to influence a highly integrated team of technical and non-technical members as well as working with or managing third-party vendors
- Technical documentation and training experience around LiDAR, AVs and GIS
- Worked in mapping, GIS, ride-sharing, or logistics
- Supported or managed vendor teams with deep understanding of budget
- Solid experience in handling SQL, Python, GIS and GenAI tooling
