About the Role

This role is part of our Rider Team, which focuses on growing and engaging our rider base while continually improving the rider experience.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Operations Manager who will be responsible for what we call "Core Rider Growth"

[1] increasing the number of riders, specifically local riders on the Uber app;

[2] improving their engagement and experience and;

[3] enhancing retention by taking ownership of the full rider lifecycle.

You will build impactful strategies leveraging the wealth of data within Uber, design and launch new campaigns and products, and collaborate across teams to execute, iterate, and develop insights from innovative initiatives that deliver sustainable growth.

Responsibilities

These are some of the activities you can expect in your day-to-day:

  1. Identify key growth opportunities through market research and develop a comprehensive vision, strategy, and execution plan to drive rider acquisition, engagement, retention, and reactivation.

  2. Own the rider journey by understanding rider behaviors, motivations, and pain points, and address them through targeted initiatives that enhance the rider experience and boost engagement.

  3. Analyze rider data to uncover high-impact opportunities, optimize performance metrics, and continuously refine growth strategies based on actionable insights.

  4. Innovate and scale best practices in the South Korea market while ensuring operational excellence and alignment with broader business objectives.

  5. Partner cross-functionally with teams such as Marketing, CRM, Legal, and Product to launch new products and initiatives that accelerate rider growth.

Basic Qualifications

  • Fluent in English & Korean, speaking, writing, listening and reading.

  • Good at number and data analysis. Experience working with large datasets in tools like Excel or Google Sheets, and the ability to translate metrics into actionable insights – SQL proficiency is a big plus.

  • 5+ years of relevant experience, including launching new initiatives, managing cross-functional projects, and solving business problems using data.

  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to translate insights into actions.

  • Proven project management skills, with a track record of executing multiple initiatives in fast-paced environments.

  • Analytical mindset, capable of breaking down complex problems and developing data-driven, practical solutions.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders through clear, compelling storytelling.

  • Growth mindset, with a proactive, “go-get-it” attitude and eagerness to become the go-to expert for rider growth.
