---- What the Candidate Will Do ----

  1. Build and enhance Uber Eats desktop web features using React, TypeScript, and GraphQL
  2. Collaborate with backend engineers to consume and extend APIs that power content and experimentation
  3. Participate in A/B testing and feature rollout initiatives to improve conversion and engagement
  4. Help improve page load performance and Core Web Vitals through frontend optimisations
  5. Write clean, maintainable code with appropriate test coverage (unit and integration tests)
  6. Debug and troubleshoot issues across frontend and backend components
  7. Collaborate on team processes including code reviews, design discussions, and documentation

---- Basic Qualifications ----

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
  2. 1–3 years of professional software engineering experience, ideally with web applications
  3. Proficiency with modern frontend technologies: JavaScript/TypeScript, React
  4. Familiarity with backend services and APIs (GraphQL, REST)
  5. Basic understanding of web fundamentals including HTML, CSS, browser rendering, and performance
  6. Knowledge of unit testing frameworks and best practices

---- Preferred Qualifications ----

  1. Experience with Node.js, Go, or other backend languages is a plus
  2. Exposure to experimentation or feature flagging systems
  3. Interest or experience in performance optimisation, SEO, or i18n
  4. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and observability tools (Sentry, DataDog, etc.)
  5. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and distributed team environment
