Job Description
What Does Success Look Like
As a Senior Lead / Principal Product Engineer, you will be a key technical leader responsible for designing, architecting, and driving highly scalable and distributed backend systems. You will play a pivotal role in setting engineering standards, mentoring senior engineers, and delivering platform innovations that fuel Sprinklr’s growth. Working closely with product and cross-functional stakeholders, you will shape technical strategy, ensure high system reliability, and influence the future direction of our technology.
What You’ll Do
Architect and design large-scale, high-performance backend systems with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, and fault tolerance.
Drive technical strategy and decision-making, providing architectural leadership across multiple product lines.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and cross-functional teams to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.
Optimize distributed systems for performance, cost-efficiency, and resilience.
Lead and mentor engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and technical guidance.
Evaluate and introduce new frameworks, tools, and technologies to enhance engineering effectiveness.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex system-level challenges in distributed environments.
Establish best practices in coding, testing, monitoring, and deployment to ensure engineering excellence.
What Makes You Qualified
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
6+ years of backend development experience with a strong focus on Java and distributed systems.
Proven expertise in Java frameworks (Spring, Spring Boot, etc.) and building large-scale applications.
Strong knowledge of databases such as MySQL, MongoDB, or Elasticsearch.
Hands-on experience with distributed data and messaging systems (Apache Kafka, Cassandra, Hadoop, etc.).
Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Excellent problem-solving skills, architectural thinking, and ability to handle ambiguity.
Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills — capable of influencing technical direction and uplifting teams.
