Harness is the AI Software Delivery Platform company, led by technologist and entrepreneur Jyoti Bansal (founder of AppDynamics, acquired by Cisco for $3.7B). Harness has raised approximately $570M in funding and is valued at $5.5B, backed by leading investors including Goldman Sachs, Menlo Ventures, IVP, Unusual Ventures, Citi Ventures, and more. As AI accelerates code creation, the real bottleneck has shifted to everything after the code – testing, deployments, application security, reliability, compliance, and cost optimization. Harness brings AI and automation to this “outer loop,” helping teams ship software faster while maintaining security and governance throughout the entire software delivery lifecycle.
Powered by Harness AI and the Software Delivery Knowledge Graph, the Harness Platform applies deep context and intelligent automation across the software delivery lifecycle with governance and policy-driven controls embedded throughout the platform.
Over the past year, Harness powered over 185M deployments, 82M builds, 18T flag evaluations, 8M security scans, 9.1B optimized tests, 3T protected API calls, and helped manage $2.8B in cloud spend — enabling customers like United Airlines, Morningstar, and Choice Hotels to accelerate releases by up to 75%, reduce cloud costs by up to 60%, and achieve 10x DevOps efficiency.
With a global team across 26 offices and 27 countries, Harness is shaping the future of AI software delivery — and we’re looking for exceptional talent to help us move even faster.
About the Role
As a Staff PM for Platform & Data Collection, you will own the vision, strategy, and execution across two foundational areas of Harness API and AI Security: the core platform infrastructure that every other capability is built on, and the data collection layer that determines how our platform observes and instruments customer environments.
These two areas are deeply connected — the quality of data we collect and the reliability of the platform we run it on are what make everything else possible. You'll be working on problems that touch every customer and every product team, from how we deploy agents across diverse infrastructure to how we scale, secure, and optimize the platform underneath. This is a high-leverage role for someone with strong technical intuition, a bias for operational excellence, and the ability to drive complex, multi-quarter work with clarity and conviction.
What You Will Do
Platform
- Own the end-to-end product strategy and roadmap for Harness API and AI Security's core platform, including data infrastructure, scalability, access control, and enterprise platform capabilities.
- Define and drive the scalability roadmap — ensuring the platform can grow with customers in terms of data volume, user scale, and deployment complexity.
- Lead platform cost optimization initiatives, working with engineering to reduce infrastructure costs without compromising product quality or customer experience.
- Own enterprise platform features including identity and access management, service account lifecycle, audit logging, and authentication — the capabilities that unlock and retain large, compliance-driven organizations.
- Define the licensing and usage analytics experience — giving customers and internal teams the visibility they need into platform consumption.
- Partner with the broader Harness platform organization to ensure Harness API and AI Security capabilities are well-integrated into the Harness console and shared platform services.
Data Collection
- Own the end-to-end product strategy and roadmap for Harness API and AI Security's agent and data collection portfolio, spanning API gateway integrations, language agents, and specialized deployment environments.
- Define what it means to deploy Harness API and AI Security in any customer environment — setting the bar for installation experience, reliability, compatibility, and operational simplicity.
- Identify gaps in coverage and build the case for expanding into new gateways, runtimes, cloud environments, and enterprise infrastructure types.
- Define success metrics for the data collection layer — coverage, health, and reliability — and drive continuous improvement against those targets.
Cross-Functional
- Partner with engineering, sales engineering, and customer success to translate field feedback and customer escalations into prioritized product requirements.
- Work directly with strategic enterprise customers to understand platform and deployment requirements and translate them into scalable product decisions.
- Collaborate with CS, Sales and cross functional teams to ensure platform changes are communicated and rolled out smoothly.
About You
- 7+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or staff-level role at a B2B software company.
- You've owned a platform or infrastructure product at scale — you understand what it means to be the foundation other teams build on, and you take that responsibility seriously.
- You have strong technical intuition. You don't need to write the code, but you can engage deeply with engineers on tradeoffs and hold your own in architectural discussions.
- You have a track record of driving large, multi-quarter initiatives from strategy through execution, often across multiple engineering teams.
- You're a strong communicator — crisp in writing, persuasive in conversation, and effective at influencing without authority across engineering, GTM, and executive stakeholders.
- Experience in API security, observability, developer tools, or security infrastructure is a plus.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, cloud-native architectures, or enterprise on-prem deployment environments is a plus.
