Job Summary:
OpenGov is on a mission to power more effective and accountable government. We’re elevating our brand to match that mission—and we’re hiring a Creative Director to lead the way.
The ideal candidate understands the power of Creativity as a business driver and will serve as a strategic partner to teams across the company, including marketing, product, sales, customer success, and executive leadership. You'll own our creative expression and visual brand across all channels and help bring it to life through world-class storytelling and design. You’ll shape not just what we say, but how we show up—delivering brand experiences that are bold, cohesive, and unmistakably OpenGov.
Key Responsibilities:
Brand Leadership: Own and evolve OpenGov’s visual identity and brand voice, ensuring consistency across all internal and external communications.
Creative Strategy: Translate business goals and customer insights into compelling creative concepts and advertising campaigns that support growth, engagement, and retention.
Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of creatives, fostering a culture of excellence, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with stakeholders across marketing, product, and beyond to ensure design supports and enhances strategic initiatives.
Design Systems: Oversee the evolution and governance of OpenGov’s design systems, ensuring scalability and alignment across digital and print experiences.
Production Oversight: Guide creative development from concept through execution across a range of media including web, digital advertising, video, events, presentations, and product marketing.
Qualifications:
10+ years of creative experience, including 3–5 years as a brand/creative lead.
Hands-on design expertise across web, digital, and traditional formats - you've rolled up your sleeves to create exceptional work, not just directed it.
Proven experience partnering with executive teams on brand identity and strategy.
A portfolio that reflects bold thinking, sophisticated design, and multi-channel execution.
Strong track record of building and scaling brand systems for high-growth B2B companies.
Creative judgment and a confident point of view, paired with a collaborative spirit.
Deep understanding of design thinking, creative strategy, and customer-centric storytelling.
Clear leadership and communication skills with experience managing and mentoring teams.
Comfortable working in an intense, fast-paced, collaborative environment with shifting priorities.
Experience working with SaaS companies or within the govtech/public sector is a plus.
$160K - $180K
On target ranges above include base plus a portion of variable compensation that is earned based on company and individual performance.
The final compensation will be determined by a number of factors such as qualifications, expertise, and the candidate’s geographical location.
